Tichu Counter – Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This policy explains what data the Tichu Counter app for Android ("the app") handles. The app is developed by Panos Soilemezis and published on Google Play as CodeSaber ("we").

Summary

Data stored on your device

The app stores player names, games, rounds, scores, statistics and your settings (such as theme, language and unlocked colors) in local storage on your device. This data is not sent to us or to anyone else.

If you use "Export backup", the app creates a file with this data and opens your device's share sheet. The file goes only where you choose to send or save it. "Restore backup" reads a file you pick.

You can delete this data at any time by deleting games and players in the app, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app.

Ads (Google AdMob)

The app does not show banner or pop-up ads. In Settings, and occasionally after a finished game, you can choose to watch a short video ad to unlock an extra color. Only if you do so, the app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC to load and show that ad.

When an ad is requested, Google may collect and process:

DataPurpose
Device identifiers, such as the advertising IDAdvertising, ad measurement, fraud prevention
IP address and approximate location derived from itAdvertising, fraud prevention, security
Device and app information (model, OS version, language, app version)Showing a compatible ad, measurement
Interactions with the ad (views, taps)Ad measurement, analytics, fraud prevention
Diagnostic data about ad loadingAd performance and troubleshooting

Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent form before personalized ads are shown. Without consent, Google may still show non-personalized or limited ads. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Ad privacy (shown when it applies to you). You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

Google processes this data according to its own policies: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Earlier versions of the app (before version 3.0) showed a banner ad provided by Google AdMob, which collected the same kinds of data.

Crash reporting

The current version of the app does not send crash reports. If we add crash reporting, we will update this policy first.

Permissions

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

Because we do not receive or store your personal data, we cannot access, correct or delete it on our side. Data in the app stays under your control on your device. For data processed by Google for ads, you can use Google's tools linked above or contact Google directly. If you have questions about this policy or your rights under the GDPR, contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when the app gains new features. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version.
